Someone Must See Something in Him

So my husband fell down the steps yesterday morning. It seems something is always trying to keep him from joining our family at church. This has gone on since he agreed to go with me to the A/G church I went to with my mother.

There was always something, a migraine, a wrenched back, something. Since we’ve been here, it seems like work has interfered as often as his back. He’s not suffered the debilitating headaches that he used to—he still gets headaches, but seems to manage them a little more effectively.

The boys had rehearsal for Easter Vigil yesterday morning. They were sure their father wasn’t going to be going to the church with them, let alone going to confession so he could receive communion with them when they join the church.

But he did. He was stooped a good portion of the time, but he went. And when we got there we found out there would not be confession at our church. Another obstacle…but he drove himself down to the cathedral nearby—only to find out they might not be having confession.

At the last minute one of the priests arrived. My husband talked with the priest, and while not sharing all that he and the priest talked about he told me he was reminded not to “let it go for so long, next time.” How long? Well…let’s just say that it took longer than my return.

But he went!

I informed him he must have a lot of potential because it seems something or someone would like not to see him back in a relationship with the LORD
